Interlibrary Loan and Interagency Cooperation Policy
The Wallkill Public Library belongs to the Ramapo Catskill Library System. Patrons or library staff may place electronic holds on items not available in our library from the other libraries in the system. Library staff may place holds on items not available from the Ramapo Catskill Library System from other libraries in the local region including the Mid Hudson Library System, local colleges, public school systems, and the New York State Library through SEAL. Materials which are not available in the local area may be searched for through the nationwide OCLC system. It is possible that a patron may need to pay a fee for this service or postage for the delivery of materials. The interlibrary loan process may take as little as one to two days or up to eight weeks to complete depending upon the location and availability of the requested materials.
The interlibrary loan process is not intended as a substitute for developing an adequate collection. It is provided to give the patron access to specialized or technical materials not readily available in the public library.
