The Pine Bush Library's Board of Trustees wishes to express their gratitude to the community for the overwhelming response to their fund drive letter. Your library provides FREE ACCESS TO ALL for computers, the Internet, books, DVD's, magazines, children and adult programs and much more. If you did not receive notice of our annual fund drive and would like to contribute, please contact us at 744-3375. We will continue to expand services and serve our community with your support. We encourage you to visit the library, see us on Facebook, or go to our website at www.rcls.org/pbl .
We have an after school program for students K-5 on Mondays in the library from 3:45 to 5 pm. Homework help, board games, Lego's and crafts are available--your choice. We hope to expand the program to 4 days a week. On Fridays, we have knitting instruction for children. All materials are furnished to get started.
In February, we celebrate Valentine's Day. Beginning on Monday, February 6th, come in and fill out a red heart for our "What Do You Love About the Pine Bush Library?" campaign. We'll display all the hearts for everyone to see.
AARP Tax-aide counseling begins in February on Fridays by appointment. State and Federal forms are now available.
Saturdays are very busy at the library with used book sales. Also, our teen tech tutors are here to help you on the computer or learn how to operate your new e-reader such as the Kindle, Nook or Kobo readers. We have had many come in for help.
Be sure you make your reservations for the Mardi Gras Cafe at the library on Friday, February 17th from 6 to 8 pm. Cajun snacks, live jazz, giveaways, music and much more is planned. Enjoy the ambiance of New Orleans and Mardi Gras right in our very own annex. Snow date is Saturday, February 18th from 4-6 pm.
The Library will be closed on February 20th in observance of Presidents' Day.
February 29 is "Leap Day." You have an extra day this year to do something special. Make it count!!
In May, the library is planning a Mother's Day Boutique. Homemade Jams & Jellies and Happy Herbs Soap will be joining us. We are also asking for donations of used costume jewelry. It would be greatly appreciated.
For those of you headed to Florida, we just received word of the Pine Bush in Florida Reunion. It will be on Saturday, February 25th in Zephyrhills. More details are in the library.
We have scheduled two AARP Driver Safety Classes. One will be on April 4th from 9 am - 4 pm, and the other is on June 7th from 9 am - 4 pm. The cost is $17 for AARP members, and $19 for non-members. Call the Library for reservations.
In case we ever get any inclement weather, please check our recorded message about the hours for the day in question. There are never overdue fines when the library needs to close.
