Circulation Policy

Your library card allows you to borrow various materials from this library and from other libraries in the Ramapo Catskill Library System (RCLS).  By registering your child for a library card, you have accepted full responsibility for all use of that card, including the type of materials borrowed.  The library will not limit your child's use of the card. We recommend family use of the library, especially for young children.  We ask your cooperation in helping us make this a library that is a welcoming place for everyone.


Library Cards:
Your first Anser Library Card is free, however if you lose your card there is a $2.00 replacement charge.  Please bring your card each time you want to check out materials.  Please inform the library of any address or phone number changes.

1st Time Borrowers:
· The first time you borrow from our library, you may borrow no more than 2 books or audiotapes at a time, and will not be allowed to borrow videotapes.  After the first time, you may borrow more than 2 items provided that you do not have any overdue items, or unpaid fines.

Books & Audiotapes:
· Books and audiotapes circulate for 2 weeks at a time.
· Books may be renewed for a maximum of 2 times.  You may call or renew in person.
· Renewals for Interlibrary Loan materials and items on hold/reserve depend on the policies of the lending library.
· The fine for overdue books is $0.10 per day with a maximum fine of $5.00 per book.

Videos:
· Entertainment videos circulate for 2 nights; educational videos circulate for 1 week.
· One renewal is allowed for videos.
· A limit of 2 videos may be borrowed at one time per household or family.
· All registered borrowers, even children, may borrow videos.  By registering a child for a card, parents or guardians accept responsibility for all fines/replacement costs.
· The fine for overdue videos is $1.00 per day with a maximum fine of $5.00.

Magazines:
· Magazines may be borrowed, unless it is the most current issue.
· Magazines circulate for 2 weeks.
