Mount Moor Cemetery

Mount Moor Cemetery has over 50 graves remaining on its 200' X 150' area. The first burial was in 1848. It is located within the current property of the Palisades Center Mall. The original property was 3 acres and was used to bury black people and slaves. One stone is nearly 140 years old. The cemetery has provided burial space for veterans of the Civil War, Spanish-American War, WWI and WWII and the Korean War.
