"The Boulders"

The "Boulders" is an eight- room house built on a rock ledge at the northern end of Forest Park on East Shore Road along Greenwood Lake. JP Morgan built the house for his personal friend, Mr. Homer Norris, who was an organist for St. George's Episcopal Church in New York City. Work on the house was started in 1911 and completed in 1913. The total cost of the land and the house was $20,000. It is built of stone, boulders, and wood (mostly ash and birch) that was harvested from the original site.
