"THE FIREBIRD" performed by The Puppet People
The amazing Puppet People will be performing "THE FIREBIRD" at EPL&M on August 18 at 7pm. Watch as the mythical firebird comes to life in this magical puppet fantasy inspired by the Russian folktale and popular ballet of The Firebird. Our protagonists learn that kindness pays off and that through perseverance and friendship even the impossible is possible. Friendship, courage, self - esteem and duty characterize the journey taken by Ivan and Princess Yelena when they team up to break the enchantment placed over their kingdom. This amazing performance by the Puppet People features beautifully handcrafted marionettes, lavish costumes and vivid sets masterfully accompanied by Stravinsky's musical score from the ballet. The Puppet People are a professional touring puppet company dedicated to bringing quality puppet theater to schools, theatres, museums, libraries and festivals. Members of the Puppeteers of America, they have performed throughout the Northeast and have toured nationally with the Bennington Marionettes, with whom they performed at Lincoln Center. They make all their own puppets, scenery and write their own scripts. To learn more, visit their website at www.thepuppetpeople.com . A wonderful experience for children of all ages. Monday, August 18th, 7pm. Free and open to the public. 40 Center Street, Ellenville. 845-647-5530.

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Peter Fletcher began studying guitar at the early age of 7, under the instruction of Mr. John Sutherland. Peter made his formal debut at the age of 15. Having won numerous awards as a student, Mr. Fletcher is currently in high demand as a performer in cultural venues throughout the United States. He has been invited to perform at the George Eastman House in Rochester and Cincinnati's Memorial Hall among others, and made his New York Debut at Carnegie Hall in 2007 where he performed again this past April.
