Story Time
Do you know a young person who enjoys reading and listening to stories? The Livingston Manor Library now has three after-school book clubs. On Thursdays, the Check It Out Book Club meets from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. for youth in grades K to 2. Stories, crafts and readers’ theater are on the agenda!
On Fridays, the Book Worms Book Club for 3rd to 5th graders meets from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. to hear stories and discuss books read independently. Participants keep a journal to record thoughts and feelings about their books. Other activities will be included.
The 3-Apples Book Club meets bi-weekly on Friday evenings at 6:00 for 6th to 8th graders. Participants vote on books to read independently. Related activities may include food preparation, watching movies, crafts, research and quiz bowls.
Storytime for toddlers and preschoolers meets on Wednesdays from 11:00 to 11:30 in the morning. Youngsters listen to stories and rhymes and play games and puzzles on the colorful jungle carpet in the children’s room.
All are welcome and there is no charge for participation. For more information or to register, call the library at 439-5440.
