Goshen Library uses Remind.com for storytime reminders, very helpful. Updated App lets user see all that they are signed up for, user friendly. Newburgh Library felt it was school or class orientated, may have changed with update. Other libraries make reminder calls prior to event or use Evanced which sends program confirmation and then an email reminder two days before the program. Group discussed using Library Aware, Constant Contacts, LibGuides for sending newsletters.

Professional Development-possible visit to publishing house is in the works for late winter or early spring.

Updating Bibliographies posted on RCLS-send titles regarding “death” to Michelle and titles regarding “facts of life” to Joni. Email changes to CLOUSC resource list to Randy, please cc: Ruth. Turn “Book Share” books into a bookmark or list.

Tech Topics
Emily from Washingtonville asked group about AWEs and if they are used in other buildings. AWEs are very popular and group recommended purchasing units for new space. iPads in children’s area are also very popular.
Highlight the Host
Vera discussed her storytimes- books, activity and snack follow a theme. Books on display for patrons to check out, most don’t take.
What’s On Your Mind?
Chester: shared new and very popular parenting books by Julia Cook with the group. Monticello: asked for help with dealing with hygiene issues she is having with group of teens, group offered suggestions. Mamakating: working on scavenger hunt with school district.
